I knew there’s a person named Abe Seme “安倍晴明” when I was reading 阴阳师，the story was about 1300 years ago…so I wonder Answer: There are many lines of Abe name. Abe is old name. However, since Japanese people adopted similar names or changed the character of their names like 阿部 安倍 阿辺 安部 in after ages, you can't presume all the 安倍 names have the same origin.
